Dr. Carl Oppenheimer

Dr. Carl H. Oppenheimer is known around the world as one of the founding fathers of modern bioremediation technology. He devoted his life to the research and development of ecologically safe and sound methods of cleaning hydrocarbon pollution around the world. Dr. Oppenheimer developed, over a 40 year period, a demonstrably superior microbial consortium. This proprietary blend is known as The Oppenheimer Formula ®.

Dr. Oppenheimer held a MA degree in Medical Microbiology and a PhD in Microbiology & Oceanography. He is author and editor of eight books and well over 300 papers on all facets of hydrocarbon pollution, marine ecology, oceanography, and environmental management. He taught in these fields for over 40 years at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the University of Miami, Florida State University, and the University of Texas.

Over his career, he interfaced with diverse committees and projects such as the National Science Foundation, the National Academy of Sciences, The Office of Naval Research, the Presidents Oil Spill Panel, the Bureau of Land Management, The Texas Water and Land Commission, and the EPA.

He was instrumental in the state of Texas authorizing the first open water testing of a bioremediation product in US history at the test site for the Mega Borg oil spill off the coast of Texas.
